What makes The Flat Head special?

1. 100% Made in Japan
The Flat Head produces all its jeans in Japan, using old shuttle-looms to create an authentic Selvedge denim. This results in a unique, dense fabric with a deep texture and beautiful ageing (Aging) over time.

 

2. Unique Fading and Patina
One of the features denim lovers appreciate The Flat Head for is the way their jeans fade. Through a special yarn structure and a unique dyeing technique, their jeans develop incredible contrasts and an intense patina with regular wear.

 

3. Left-Hand Twill Denim
Unlike most jeans, which are woven with a right-hand twill, The Flat Head often uses left-hand twill denim. This provides a softer feel and distinctive wear patterns.

 

4. Traditional Construction
Each pair of jeans is hand-sewn with old-fashioned Union Special machines, creating an incredibly durable construction. Chain stitching, copper rivets and heavy leather patches add to the robustness and authentic look.

 

5. More than just denim

1984 "Martin, put your coat on." Ma is already outside. The sandwiches in a paper bag, the thermos filled with coffee. "Come, we must hurry: The clock won't wait for us." It is 4 o'clock, we are driving to the flower auction in Aalsmeer. It's exciting. Every time. There is no time to lose. Literally. The clock determines.
